“I have been seeing Gareth for around 6 months after the loss of both of my parents following short illnesses.
I was impressed to learn that the first session would be free and was designed for me to see if Gareth would be suitable to help with my problems, if he felt he could assist and if we had the sort of rapport needed. I was so pleased and reassured after our first session that, I immediately booked 12 further sessions.
Over the last few months Gareth has helped me immensely with coming to terms with my grief but he has also helped with other issues which have come to light during my sessions including issues relating to depression, addiction, self esteem and anger.
I find his approach very relaxing, friendly and professional. He challenges me but not in a way I feel pressured or intimidated by.
The tools he has taught me have not only helped me in dealing with my original issue, my loss and grief, but they have also helped me with the other issues we have discussed during our sessions.
I honestly do not know what I would have done without, or mentally, where I would be without the support, assistance and tools Gareth has equipped me with. I am so pleased I made the decision to come to counselling and made the choice to seek counselling with Gareth.
I am very grateful for all of his support and assistance”
“I’d suffered with anxiety for around 16 years, so when it got to the point that I could no longer spend time talking with my work colleagues without a panic attack, I decided it was time to do something about it.
From the minute I met with Gareth, I felt at ease with him and I found I was able to be completely honest and open throughout the sessions, which ultimately led to me conquering much of my anxiety. As Gareth has told me, I will never be fully free of the symptoms but now I have a better understanding of the triggers and also have the techniques that he has shown me, to deal with the onset of an attack.
I can honestly say that the therapy with Gareth has changed my whole demeanour and the anxiety has become less of a focus for me as the weeks go by. For this I am truly grateful and have no hesitation in recommending Gareth’s sessions.”
“I had a few reservations about seeing a counsellor after a very negative experience with a clinical psychologist some 25 years ago, but I need not have worried.
Gareth is very supportive and empathic and really works hard to help you unravel and understand whatever issues and emotions are causing problems. He helped me to understand myself better and find a positive way forward.”
“I first booked counselling in a desperate state and wondered if this would be something else I would fail at.
Thankfully Gareth enabled me to talk openly, without judgement about how I was feeling and helped me to face some difficult issues in a safe, supported place .
I still have a way to go but I haven’t quit… that’s good for me (expert at self sabotage) Gareth’s blended approach to counselling is thought provoking but not too “flowery“ that I don’t understand it.
I’m in a much better place: a work in progress but feeling more positive about myself. I have actually started to run!”
