I began my journey as a counsellor some 18 years ago when I personally suffered my own personal traumatic experience and faced life-changing consequences, This led me to begin training in this field of understanding which I had no real knowledge of taking on an introductory level course in both Person-Centred counselling and an Introduction to Integrative Counselling Theories. This grew to my achieving My diploma level award in Counselling giving me the ability to practice as a counsellor.
Whilst building my practice I continued to learn and was awarded a first class degree with honours in Counselling and Psychotherapy at Salford University. I have continued my learning throughout taking on Personal Development courses throughout my time building my practice and one of my favourite was my gaining IEMT Practitioner and Advanced IEMT Practitioner certificates in 2024, These have helped significantly in my work to help trauma sufferers and also clients with deep-seated phobias.
I have also this year, 2026, gained my Supervisors Certificate from the Manchester Institute of Psychotherapy which allows me to grow my practice and supervise student counsellors and qualified counsellors alike. I continue to enjoy the learning I get from everything I do in my counselling/supervisory service journey.

After struggling with the sudden loss of a close friend 6 years ago, on top of recent family trauma, I decided to explore grief councilling. I found Gareth through Google, and based on the recent positive reviews I contacted him to arrange an introductory session. I can honestly say it's one the best and most impactful decisions of my life. He helped me navigate and understand my emotions, and I now have tools that will help me in every aspect of my life and not just for the grief I have experienced.Posted on Freeborn AidenTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I attended therapy with Gareth over the course of 3 months between summer and autumn 2025. He is the 3rd therapist I have worked with over the course of my life and I have to say he is the best. We discussed a wide variety of "issues" during our sessions including anger, addition, grief, relationship problems and he kept up with somewhat erratic mind very well, steering the discourse as needed. I left each section feeling better and with actual actions.Posted on Jonty HughTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Gareth has been wonderful and has been an absolute gem in me understand myself and work through my own issues. I would highly recommend to anyone who is in need of some help!Posted on Bethany JaneTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Can’t thank Gareth enough for all the help and encouragement he has given me over the past year. He has given me so much support, guidance and encouragement without judgement, this has enabled me to over come so much during my sessions. I have learnt so much about myself and grown as a person and wouldn’t have got through it without him. He has helped me find the strength & confidence within me that I’ve always needed and longed for. Forever grateful, thank you Gareth!Posted on Jane GauntTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Thankyou to Gareth Parry, I was struggling to deal with a number of negative life events that snowballed all at once, and was unable to emerge from the 'depths.' I've not had therapy before, but I knew that I needed help. Being treated by Gareth brought understanding and clarity back to me. Thanks again.Posted on Erin MitchellTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. When I first met Gareth, I was in the midst of navigating a deeply traumatic life event. At that point, I truly couldn’t see a way out of the grief I was experiencing. I had all but given up on therapy after seeing two previous therapists with whom I couldn’t connect. Honestly, I only attended that first session with Gareth because others encouraged me to give it one last try. From the very first appointment, I knew he was the right fit for me. Gareth immediately made me feel at ease and helped me see that the overwhelming emotions and challenges I was facing were not only valid but also manageable. His approach is both honest and empathetic — a rare balance that makes you feel genuinely supported while also gently guided forward. If you're someone who feels hesitant about therapy, or like you've already given it a shot and been disappointed, I completely understand — I was in the exact same place. But working with Gareth has completely changed my outlook on therapy and what it can offer. Thank you, Gareth, for everything you’ve done. I’m so grateful.Posted on Jan GilesTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I chose to see Gareth on the strength of previous reviews and I am so happy that I did. I was struggling with a number of issues when I first saw Gareth, and we worked through things together at a pace that worked perfectly for me. Gareth’s approach has been transformative to me and I feel so much more able to move forwards with my life now. For the first time I have reached a place of peace with issues that I had been struggling with over a number of years. So a massive thank you to Gareth who I would award 100 stars to if the review allowed!Posted on Ben CliffTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I found Gareth through the Bupa work scheme. Gareth helped me through a very difficult time, providing not only tools and techniques but also a regular touch point to check on progress. Challenging sessions at times, but always supportive and professional to a tee. That was the journey I needed. Highly recommended.Posted on Andrew StolleryTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I found Gareth through my private healthcare cover. I wanted to see a counsellor that was local so I could meet face-to-face. I have had 15 sessions with Gareth and I believe, through his insight and support, I have been able to make some key changes in the way I think and therefore the way I live. Gareth uses a mix of psychotherapeutic techniques and I found his care and attention invaluable to helping me work through the loss of my father.Posted on Matt AinscoughTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I can thoroughly recommend Gareth as a counsellor. Very easy to talk to and he helped me to understand myself so much better through our conversations.
