I began my journey as a counsellor over 10 years ago, when I personally had a traumatic experience and faced life-changing choices. This led me to begin my training in this field, with a tentative but brave step of an introductory certificate in person-centred counselling alongside an introduction to counselling theories.

This has grown to the present day of my professionally qualifying diploma and following this a BSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Salford University.

During this journey I have expanded my knowledge and expertise in many approaches in counselling through short, 6 month and full year training courses in varying approaches and have kept abreast of the continual developments in the counselling field with various personal development courses.

I began my person to person counselling experience in 2007 working in placement at a voluntary sector establishment, and have now set up my own private practice as a qualified counsellor.

It was in 2012 that my private practice of Hebden Counselling was born.
